Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is the formal acknowledgment of a person's skills and knowledge, regardless of how or where they were acquired—whether through formal or informal training, work experience (paid or unpaid), voluntary work, or life experience. The evidence provided for RPL must demonstrate the current relevance of the competencies being assessed. MEDICUS ensures that all students, whether prospective or enrolled, receive full recognition for their existing skills and knowledge. MEDICUS supports the recognition of 'non-traditional' learning pathways as valid methods for achieving competency during the RPL assessment process. RPL may result in exemptions, which can be requested by submitting an application.
